The front desk staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Trastevere, yet the hotel's beautiful courtyard provides a peaceful retreat from the city's energy.
The breakfasts were excellent, and we also enjoyed the drinks at the hotel. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Hotel Santa Maria will be our first choice every time we visit Rome. Highly recommended!
The staff was amazing throughout our stay: friendly, helpful, and welcoming. My daughter especially loved the happy hour, which was such a fun touch and made the hotel feel even more special. Breakfast was fine and convenient before heading out for the day.
The only downsides were the hairdryer and the shower temperature. The hairdryer was basically useless and not powerful at all. Also, the shower could turn cold if other people were showering at the same time. The staff explained that both issues were related to the age of the building and the area, which was understandable, but still worth noting.
Overall, this is a lovely hotel with a great location, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful staff. We would definitely recommend it, especially for anyone looking for a charming and walkable place to stay in Rome.
