Pasta in Corso Monti-Colosseo offers a most inviting dining experience in the heart of Rome's Monti neighbourhood, just a short walk from the iconic Colosseum. This establishment distinctly stands out for its thoughtful dual kitchen setup, providing both traditional Italian fare and a dedicated gluten-free preparation area, ensuring a safe and quality meal for all patrons. The atmosphere is generally welcoming, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal in the bustling city centre.
Focusing on authentic Roman pasta, the menu features classic dishes such as the much-praised spaghetti alla carbonara, maccheroni all'amatriciana, and spaghetti alla gricia, alongside cacio e pepe. Many diners highlight the perfectly "al dente" pasta, exquisite guanciale, and premium pecorino cheese used in their dishes. Beyond the pasta, guests can enjoy antipasti, fresh salads, and a selection of homemade desserts, with gluten-free options being frequently commended for their quality and generous portions.
This restaurant is particularly well-suited for visitors eager to experience genuine Roman pasta, especially those requiring gluten-free options due to its secure separate kitchen facilities. Its convenient location, merely 300 metres from the Colosseum, makes it an ideal choice for a satisfying lunch or dinner before or after exploring the ancient landmark. The agreeable setting and excellent reviews suggest it works perfectly for both casual meals and memorable culinary occasions during a Roman holiday.

Unfortunately, the outdoor seating area really detracted from the meal. It sits right next to a busy road where cars are constantly driving by and honking. The heavy traffic made it incredibly noisy, and the exhaust fumes made the patio feel uncomfortably hot. I highly recommend eating here for the excellent food, but definitely ask for a table indoors.
