The meatballs were heavenly. Asked for and received shaved truffles on top (small charge as expected) and bread to mop up the life giving sauce (no charge).

Not overly sale-sy like the other counters at the market so you might miss it, but it's a must try for any foodie! Lovely chefs, brilliant service, great food. I have to come back for more.

A bit more expensive than other options in Mercato Centrale. But let me put it this way. I had a very similar pasta with a similar amount of sliced truffle in San Francisco at a very well regarded Italian restaurant. The pasta at Savini Tartufi cost me less than half of what I had paid at the SF restaurant, and the quality was comparable. I might even say that this was a bit better.

I tried the cacio e pepe with truffle. Unfortunately, it was extremely salty — to the point where it was almost difficult to eat and completely overpowered the other flavors.

The sauce itself was rich and creamy, with a generous amount for the pasta, which I appreciated. However, the pasta was also slightly too al dente for my taste. I enjoy properly al dente pasta, but this still had a noticeably hard, almost crunchy core in some pieces and required quite a bit of biting through.

The service felt rather rushed and not particularly attentive. The staff seemed busy doing several things at once, and interactions were quite short, which made the overall experience feel less welcoming.

Considering the quality of the dish and the service, I also found it quite overpriced for what was delivered. Unfortunately, not an experience I would repeat.

As a tourist, and first time truffle tryer, I wasnt sure this place was for me. The menu seemed strange, and truffle centered. Staring at the menu, one of the male staff reached out and suggested their best seller— the Tagliolino al tartufo. And let me tell you, ts was so gas 😭 😭

I have never, in my month stay at Italy, have something this creamy, this tasty, this good. As a toxic male, I rarely let out a tear. But I shed one just for this dish. They either put ambrosia in the cream, or truffle is just that good. The woman chef also prepared the dish in front of you, which was a nice spectacle. When she was shaving a few small pieces of truffle on I thought, oh that seems reasonable. Then she pulled out these MASSIVE toddler-fist-sized truffles and started going HAM on my plate.

Amazing first truffle experience, amazing hospitality, amazing spectacle, amazing chef, amazing food
