The food was very good. It was a very quiet night and fairly empty restaurant when we were there.

We had dinner at Romano twice - a great place with delicious food, a great selection of wines and relaxing atmosphere. Special thanks to Omar, our waiter, for being so kind, polite and welcoming! We will definitely be coming back in the future. Bellissimo!

Worst meal we had in Rome.

We had three dishes and they were all horrible. The mussels were rubbery. The Saltimbocca was dry, bland, and a quarter of it was sinew that was tough and chewy. The Amatriciana was undercooked as the pasta was hard and all stuck to my teeth, and there were only 3 thinly slices of guanciale (I am not exaggerating. There were so few that I counted on purpose).

The restaurant has a 4.8/5 review as of October 2025. I don’t know if the food was cooked poorly on purpose because I made a reservation that gave me 50% off the a la carte menu (excluding drinks and coperto) and the owner didn’t like that. I just saw an opportunity to save a few euros and used the discount, but would have happily paid full price for good food. Don’t offer the discount if you don’t intend on upholding the quality.

The service (not by the owner) was excellent though.

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant our first night in the area. The service, food, and atmosphere were all absolutely incredible. The best carbonara I’ve had in my life ❤️ As someone with professional experience and higher education in culinary, I tend to be picky! The price is very modest for how delicious everything was. The white focaccia was amazing, and my husband rates the gnocchi a 10/10! Thank you very much for the great experience. We will return when we visit Rome in the future.
