Me and my partner had made a reservation a few nights prior with no issues whatsoever. Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. We were served a free appetizer which was fresh and delicious. We chose the 5 course menu with wine pairing. The sommelier was polite and very passionate about the different wines paired with the meal. All the food was extraordinary. Fresh produce and a lot of thought into the different dishes. We were served some extra courses and two extra glasses of wine free of charge, which really made you feel welcome and almost familiar with the server and sommelier. Only less positive comment would be the fact that the acoustics of the dining room were quite echo'ey. But besides that it was still possible to have a conversation and hear what we were being served. I would recommend this to anyone curious and interested of trying a more complex fine dining experience.

Thank you for an amazing night!

we had the five course menu and really enjoyed our experience. it's our first course menu in Italy and we're delighted by it. it also came with starter, palate cleanser, and post dessert too!
- starter: pretty good and had good variety of small dishes.
- carrot carrot carrot: my favorite dish! it came with different texture of carrots. i love the taste of the carrot so it's really enjoyable to me
- buffalo: meat is tender and lightly seasoned, tasty!
- paella: rice has slight hint of crispiness which is enjoyable. can taste the pepper making it flavourful.
- fish with corn and cactus: light and refreshing!
- baba: i love baba and was really happy to know that they served it for our dessert. it's nicely soaked in rum, not overly sweet and paired with crunchy biscuit. sweet ending!
- bread with butter and olive oil: particularly enjoyed their homemade butter. bread was pretty good.

the service was pretty fast and for the price, it's really worth every cent. do make your reservation if you're in the city!

Carter Oblio is an innovative restaurant reinterpreting Italian cuisine utilizing the chef’s creative vision. Often, menus at restaurants who attempt to be daring, are hit and miss. Carter Oblio, hits most of its offerings out of the ballpark.

The spare, minimalist space at Carter Oblio comes across as monastic chic, highlighting the platings, rather than the decor. Luca, our server, was charming and helped us navigate the menu. The sommelier, I never asked for her name, was knowledgeable and approachable.

One of the menu’s highlights is the aptly named, “carrots, carrots, carrots,” heralding the star ingredient. A complex dish, with a smooth, intense flavor, it is indescribable, but it had an explosion of flavors. I ordered something called “Columbus’s Egg.” It included a soft boiled egg and vegetables prepared as they would in the 15th Century. Well, Columbus might have thought he docked in India, but at least he ate well during his miscalculation. I found his egg delicious. Churros Di Genovese sounded fantastic, but was a tad bit dry and needed the provided dipping sauces. My Fettuccina di Farina Bruciata al Ragù di Orto e Cortile alla Brace was friggen amazing, the pasta Al dente and done perfectly. I wanted more. The bread tasting was unique and great. We shared a 2 Pac Man for dessert, and it too was very good.

Carter Oblio would have a Michelin star in most cities. I guess Italy is too competitive, so Carter Oblio gets a mention in Michelin. Our meal, with drinks, cost a little over 100 Euros for two people. That’s astonishing considering the creativity and culinary endeavor involved. Carter Oblio gets a Michelin star from me, and I’m a tough critic indeed.

This was our first time dining at a Michelin star restaurant, and we were really excited but sadly disappointed. We’ve dined at Michelin recognized restaurants before and were expecting higher food quality and service but Carter Oblio paled in comparison. It seems they are resting on their star instead of living up to it. I do not recommend dining here.
The menu barely gave a description of the dish, so it was difficult to ascertain what was being served other than through our waiter’s description. Which, is OK for a special of the day but when you are trying to listen to all the specifics of each and every dish on the entire menu, it becomes confusing, especially with the volume of nearby patrons. Recommendation: provide a dish description for every item on the menu so customers are better informed prior to conferring with the waiter.
The menu was confusing, the food was terribly disappointing and although our waiter was very nice, the female at the register (front pay area) made us feel unwelcome and unappreciated.

** Update: The owner reached out to me sadly not to apologize for my very disappointing experience but to threaten me to remove my review. She was especially upset that I stated that her restaurant has a Michelin star and clarified it does not - I sent her a snapshot of the search engine that depicted why I thought it had a star but am happy to stand corrected and clarify that it does not have a Michelin star, Thankfully, it does not, especially based on my regretful experience there. Otherwise, I still stand by my original review and experience - I look forward to one day dining at a true Michelin star restaurant.

A Michelin recognized restaurant on a quiet street in Prati.
I was able to pick up a same day reservation for 1 at 8pm.

Beautiful meal, I enjoyed a nice white wine.

I ordered 3 courses plus bread.

They do have several chef’s choice course options.

The service was flawless, the food made with care, attention to detail and love.

I thought the pricing very reasonable for the food and experience.

If you love good dining I highly recommend Carter Oblio
