To start, bread was brought out with a side of butter flavored with a seafood I didn’t catch. The bread was clearly homemade but one of the loafs wasn’t kneeded properly, resulting in a vein of uncooked flour. The “dry zone” on all of the slices extended about 1.5cm into the slices from the perimeter, I think the bread was left out too long, or was simply a bit overcooked. Or perhaps it was as intended, who knows.
The bread was listed at €6 and wasn’t on the bill, so perhaps they comped it. Or it was included in the tasting. Either way, I took it in stride and ate around the (imo) flaws. The butter was delicious.
Opened with the profiteroles, which were a delight, in both presentation and taste.
Next came tortellini, which had good flavor but were undercooked, not by much but by just enough to undermine the dish. The dough stayed in that slightly muddy/clay zone. Maybe another 45s and they would have been good.
Finally there was the meat plate. Tasty. No complaints here.
I expected more on the basis of the rave reviews and seemingly creative approach to cuisine. Beyond the profiteroles it all felt rather standard. All in, 60 for the 3-set, a glass of wine, and an espresso.
Service was good.
Would definitely come here or recommend it again
