This family-run trattoria is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood and run by a pair of charming twin brothers. The space is cozy with a lot of personality.
The Tamburello, the restaurant's namesake and specialty, is a baked stew in a terra-cotta dish and covered with pizza dough. We had the Tamburello "Sole Mio", a stew of broccoli rabe and sausage. We also tried the gnocchi with cod, olives, capers in a red sauce. It was delicious and full of flavor. We finished our meal with a chocolate almond torte. Each dish was authentic and well executed. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We made a reservation for the night we arrived for our first ever visit to Rome at the end of March. We were enthusiastically greeted and seated immediately, and thus began the wonderful interactions with the family who own the restaurant. From start to finish, it was an absolutely great meal. The young man who took care of us listened to all the questions we asked and then made perfect recommendations for us to enjoy, including an amazing appetizer of thinly sliced fried zucchini. Both pasta dishes we shared were delicious and reminded me of eating meals prepared by my grandparents. We were not rushed at all through the meal, and it was just the best start to our trip. Highly recommend, and we will absolutely go back if we visit Rome in the future.

The best and kindest service I’ve ever seen, our server really made us happy with his generous kindness, making us feel like he’s not excited for the money we’re leaving but for having the opportunity to have us in his restaurant. While there are some small imperfections due to the restaurant seeming short-staffed, our experience wasn’t altered at all and the food brought to us was absolutely perfect in any way. My fiancées Quattro formaggi pizza was the best we have ever eaten and my bowl of potatoes, meat, lots of different cheeses, pastas and lots of love was absolutely perfect. We’re very lucky for the other restaurants in the area being full because we got to enjoy and support this awesome family business. Totally recommend!!!

Tucked away from the busy streets of Rome we stumbled across a beautiful little restaurant that turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The setting was charming and intimate with that effortless Italian warmth that makes you feel instantly welcome.
The food was absolutely fantastic. Every dish was hearty rich and packed with flavour. You could taste the care in every bite from the perfectly cooked pasta to the deeply satisfying sauces that felt both comforting and indulgent. It was the kind of meal that makes you slow down and appreciate every mouthful.
Finding places like this is one of the true delights of travelling. Away from the crowds and the obvious tourist spots you discover something genuine something memorable. This little restaurant captured everything we hoped for in Rome authentic atmosphere incredible food and an experience we will be talking about long after we have gone home.

We had a really lovely experience at this Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night - cozy, romantic, and calm. The owner was extremely kind, caring, and attentive throughout the evening, which made us feel very welcome.

The food was delicious and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Keep in mind that the restaurant works mainly with reservations, so it’s better to book in advance. There is also a €2 coperto per person. Overall, a great place for a special evening in Rome.
