Pescanza Spaccio di Mare is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in Rome. I visit the city almost every year for a few days, and this place always stands out as a true highlight.
Even though I arrived right around closing time, the owner and the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
As for the food—it easily deserves 5 stars and 3 Michelin forks (Fourchettes).
Absolute perfection!
The standout feature of this restaurant is the owner. Not only is he incredibly charming, but he is also a linguistic wizard, effortlessly switching between Italian, English, Spanish, and French to make every guest feel at home. His passion for hospitality made the entire experience feel unique and personal.
As a Celiac, eating out can often be stressful, but here I felt completely safe. We decided to trust the owner’s expertise and let him choose our menu for us—a 'chef's choice' style experience. He curated a sequence of dishes that were entirely gluten-free and absolutely amazing. You would never know you were eating GF; the textures and flavors were authentic and world-class.
We will be talking about this meal for a long time!
The owner (I assumed the tattooed dude was the owner) was hilarious and took the piss out of me for looking like Ed Sheeran . I enjoyed the banter !
