What a wonderful way to start our trip to Rome!

My wife and I visited Trattoria Della Stampa on our first night in the city, and it ended up being our favorite meal of the trip. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and patient with us as visitors, and they made the entire evening feel special.

I ordered the Carbonara, which was absolutely fantastic - rich, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for in Rome. My wife had the Buffalo Caprese, which was fresh and delicious. We paired our meal with a local Italian beer and a glass of Pinot Grigio, both of which were excellent.

What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. At the end of our meal, the staff surprised us with complimentary limoncello shots, which was such a thoughtful touch and made for a fun and memorable first night in Italy.

If you’re near the Trevi Fountain and looking for authentic food, great service, and a warm atmosphere, I highly recommend Trattoria Della Stampa. Thank you for helping make our first evening in Rome so memorable!

We visited 2nd week of April and after getting an early flight in, visiting the trevi and Spanish steps we stumbled on this restaurant by chance. It was about 6pm so we got a table for two easily. The staff were really friendly, and made us feel comfortable. The pasta and lasagna were amazing, I wish we had time to visit again and would definitely be back in future!

Trattoria Della Stampa was one of the best dining experiences we had in Rome.

If you’re planning to visit for dinner, I highly recommend making a reservation. The queue moves surprisingly quickly, but the restaurant is incredibly popular and it can be difficult to get a table without booking ahead.

From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, the staff were efficient and welcoming, and the food was simply outstanding. Every dish that came out of the kitchen looked incredible, and the quality of the food more than lived up to the restaurant’s reputation.

What impressed me most was that there wasn’t a single thing I could fault. In a city filled with amazing restaurants, this was one of the few places where I genuinely wished I could return again and again. If I wasn’t trying to experience as many different restaurants in Rome as possible, I would have happily eaten here every day.

A fantastic Roman dining experience and a restaurant I would recommend without hesitation to anyone visiting Rome.

I was worried about some of the comments before I went here. although there were reservations, there were some things about the poor reception. but it's never been as I feared. they picked us up at the exact time of booking. it was crowded in there. everyone seemed to be having fun and satisfied. the black pepper-cheese pasta and lasagna we ate were the BEST we had in Rome. she was so beautiful... It's definitely a place worth giving a try. My husband, who is a football fan, was very happy with the atmosphere. I just want to give a very, very small piece of advice; The kitchen was open, meaning it was next to the tables, which was actually nice, but it was a bit hot inside. As far as I could see, there was no air conditioning; it seemed like air flow was achieved by leaving the door open. Perhaps a solution can be found for this temperature.

Overall, we had a good experience. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was friendly and attentive. The standout dish was definitely the pasta with zucchini flowers and anchovies—it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The rest of the food was decent, but several dishes were a bit too salty and quite fatty for our taste. With a lighter touch on the seasoning and oil, the overall meal would have been even better.
