We ordered the meatballs which were absolutely delicious, and the pasta was refreshingly different from what we’ve had elsewhere - really well executed and full of flavour. The fried artichoke was another highlight and something I’d highly recommend trying.
To finish, the tiramisu was outstanding and tied everything together perfectly. Overall, a fantastic dining experience with great food and even better service. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!
The setting is wonderfully rustic with an impressive selection of pastas and lasagnas. We decided to follow our waiter’s recommendations, which turned out to be a great move.
- Carciofo alla Giudìa (€9): We wanted to try this famous Jewish-style fried artichoke. It arrived looking like a golden, crispy flower with a tender heart and crunchy leaves, seasoned simply with salt and lemon. It was a good experience, though perhaps a bit simple compared to the other dishes.
-Lasagna al Ragù (€14): This was the standout "Mamma" style lasagna. It featured slow-cooked meat ragù, a creamy nutmeg-scented béchamel, and fresh pasta topped with baked Parmesan. It was perfectly al dente—rich and heavy, but absolutely delicious.
- Tonnarelli alle Vongole Veraci: A classic Roman pasta dish with fresh clams, garlic, olive oil, white wine, and parsley. It was the perfect light, briny contrast to the heavy lasagna, leaving us with a great balance of flavors.
With a side of focaccia, some wine, a few beers, and a tiramisu, our total bill came to €90. If you find yourself wandering the streets of Trastevere, this is a spot worth visiting. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Rome!
One small note for visitors with dietary preferences: many items on the menu are pork-based, so our options felt a bit limited. We ordered the goat cheese pasta and the beef lasagna, and both were absolutely delicious. The pasta in particular was excellent.
Overall, despite having fewer options that suited our preferences, the quality of the food, warm service, and wonderful atmosphere made this a place I would definitely recommend in Rome.
