Fantastic place! Tavernacolo Roma – Gattamelata is a true gem with an authentic character, featuring a warm, welcoming, intimate, and convivial atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and enjoying an evening.
The real highlight is the wine selection: extensive, refined, and of the highest quality, with labels chosen with great skill and passion, capable of enhancing every dish and satisfying even the most discerning palates.
The cuisine captivates with its quality and flavor: excellent ingredients, well-balanced flavors, and dishes that blend tradition and creativity, creating authentic flavors.
Special praise goes to the owner, Alessandro, always present, kind, and passionate, who offers expert advice and makes every customer feel at home. A place to return to with pleasure, ideal for both a special dinner and a fine glass of wine with friends. Highly recommended!

A dear friend had read the reviews and was intrigued, especially since it's always worth highlighting local businesses instead of always migrating to the center of Rome with low expectations.
The place is cozy and intimate, with nothing fancy about the decor, but you can immediately see the attention to quality ingredients, starting with the wide selection of wines that include all of our regions.
We went for an aperitif, so along with the wine, we'll also need to choose something to eat.
We quickly browse the wine list and choose a Riesling Vigna Rielehorf, but my wife also wants to try the house selection and orders a glass of Passerina, while our friend opts for a red beer.
To accompany the toast, we order bruschetta, Cantabrian anchovies and burrata, cherry tomatoes and anchovies, and two platters, one of cured meats and one of cheeses. I immediately spot a good EVO oil—look, it's from my hometown, Salento—a Casarano oil, a single cultivar of Olives "Fabulous," excellent!
The ingredients are excellent and refined. A richer selection of bread would have been appreciated. There are some fantastic breads to pair with a platter, but what a shame!
My friend was intrigued by the polenta with sausages and spare ribs, and we ordered it to share. The polenta was a bit coarse, and the spare ribs were undercooked in a sauce that hadn't previously welcomed them, in our opinion, a bit far from our Sunday sauce. The sausages were good, while his wife ordered spaghetti with garlic, oil, and chili pepper—not bad.
Chance for improvement!

Can’t say enough good things about this gem in Pigneto. The staff was kind and knowledgeable, the food was top notch (and obviously well paired to the wine) and the selection of wines was amazing! Even got a few rare varietal bottles to take back to the states. If you’re in rome and looking for a good respite from the overly touristy traps… give tavernacolo a try.

10/10!!! Pigneto is not a Rome suburb to be missed and this wine bar is proof! Ale our server was absolutely superb and had the best service alongside the best conversation. This was a wonderful experience! You can choose from wines on taps or bottles of your choice. Either way, I’m certain you will leave feeling very magical and happy. Thank you, Ale!!
