Stepping into Barrito in Rome is like being welcomed into a true Italian home. The moment you walk in, you're enveloped in the warm hum of lively conversation – almost exclusively in Italian – a clear sign that this isn't a tourist trap, but a beloved local haunt. The place is unpretentious.
The highlight, without a doubt, is the freshly made pasta. You can taste the dedication in every bite. While every dish we saw looked incredible, the pasta with butter, anchovies, and breadcrumbs is an absolute revelation. It's a dish that perfectly balances simplicity and profound flavor. It’s a testament to how incredible a few high-quality ingredients, prepared with skill and passion, can be.
If you're seeking an authentic Roman dining experience, away from the tourist crowds, where you can savor truly fresh, handmade pasta alongside a lively, local Italian clientele, then Barrito is an absolute must-visit. Come hungry, and prepare to be enchanted.
!!! (especially the man who welcomes you), the place is very small and cozy. we eat here 3 days in a row and the food was amazing, ask for Paulo - he is the cook - and he’ll know what to recommend.
aprox 60 euros per table (we were 3 people, drinks and desserts included) and 20/25 for sandwiches, drinks and 2 desserts
