I stumbled across this restaurant. Me being hungry and not paying attention to time the restaurant opens at 7 pm. They seated me at 6:30 pm and said no problem. I decided to go with the wine selection from the waiter and it was an excellent choice. From appetizers to main course everything was delicious and absolutely devine. Friendly service despite not being opened yet and an absolute fabulous dinner for one for an amazing great price. I will continue to explore their menu and keep coming back

Came here on our last night in Rome, and was very happy with that choice. Service was probably my favourite. We had Roberto and he was AMAZING!!! Food was absolutely fantastic as well. We ate Calamari (10/10), Carbonara/The Alfredo (both a 10/10) and the fillet (shocker, 10/10). Would absolutely recommend them all!

I had the pleasure of dining at Casamatta on Via Cicerone and was absolutely impressed. The food was outstanding — from the rich, flavorful Parmigiana to the perfectly cooked Rigatoni alla Carbonara, every bite was a delight. Even the San Benedetto water and the fresh bread were a nice touch.

A special shoutout to Roberto, our waiter, who made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, making us feel right at home. His service added such a personal and welcoming vibe to the evening.

If you’re in Rome and looking for delicious, authentic Italian food in a relaxed setting, Casamatta is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We came across this restaurant on our way to the Vatican and decided that it looked less like a tourist trap than those in the busier arteries. The only little mistake we probably made was sitting in the outdoor area where they were building a hotel opposite so it was dusty. They had another nicer outdoor dining area on the other entrance (restaurant is long). The food was very good and the prices reasonable. My husband said their artichoke was the best he had over a few days. Service was friendly. We would have returned for another meal if our hotel wasn’t at Spagna. We recommend.

Truly a five star experience. Roberto went out of his way to ensure our group had a good time and a good meal. We danced, laughed, and spoke about life. A great ending to our trip to Rome!
