Details

Stefano Porcari (Rome, early 15th century – Rome, 9 January 1453) was an Italian politician and humanist, known for an attempted insurrection against Pope Nicholas V and the papal power, with the aim of establishing a republican government in Rome or, according to some, his own personal power, similar to that exercised in the fourteenth century by Cola di Rienzo, from whom he took inspiration.
