A very unique vintage nativity scene. Interesting.

For sixty years, it has been a true masterpiece of art and faith, a delight for both adults and children, and a point of reference for all Roman families who know it (especially in northern Rome). It is probably one of the largest (if not the largest, probably the most elaborate) multi-scene nativity scenes in the world. About forty scenes are divided between the classic nativity scene and the Passion scene, which traces the entire life of Jesus from the Immaculate Conception to his death (but in a small room at the back, there are three other scenes related, for example, to the miraculous catch of fish). It was created over a period of ten years by Fulgenzio Martinez using Spanish terracotta statues and papier-mâché statues from Lecce. It tells the entire story of our Lord, from the Annunciation by the Angel Gabriel to the Resurrection, through evocative dioramas and landscapes and settings reproduced to perfection, down to the smallest detail, with a scenic and reconstructive accuracy worthy of an archaeologist and impressive depth. Some are small windows, others are larger representations, and often the backdrop is continuous. Inside these magical windows, one can learn the entire story of Jesus through the verses of the Bible written on scrolls above the windows, accompanied by a period melody, and featuring special effects that were futuristic for the time (lightning, sunrises, sunsets, flowing water). The church's crypt, once the sacristy, is accessed. The exhibition is spread across two separate rooms, preceded by an atrium. The stairs already offer a glimpse of the interiors, giving a taste of the craftsmanship behind the work. Look for the small door on the right as you enter the portico (a sign will help you).
