Palazzo Serristori, Rome is a distinguished Renaissance edifice in the historic Borgo rione, holding significant historical and architectural importance. This remarkable building notably survived the substantial urban transformations that led to the creation of Via della Conciliazione, making it one of the few Renaissance structures in its neighbourhood to endure. Positioned between Via della Conciliazione and Borgo Santo Spirito, with its main façade facing east along Via dei Cavalieri del Santo Sepolcro, it originally served as the esteemed seat of the Tuscan ambassador to the Holy See.
The palace's main front features square windows and a portal framed by rustication, while internally, it retains an original, large square Renaissance courtyard complete with a loggia and an open gallery adorned with arches. A fountain, once centrally located in the yard, has been re-situated near the western side. Visitors can observe the motif of the Keys of Heaven repeated around the cornice and the coat of arms of Pope Pius XI above the main portal. Inside, remnants of frescoes with military and patriotic themes, painted after 1870, offer glimpses into its past, alongside a dedicated chapel to the Virgin of Mercy.
