Here are two more wonders you can visit, albeit only through two glass windows, in the House of Augustus. The first is fully visible because the door is frontal and reproduces a portico adorned with pine garlands. The second, more elaborate, is seen obliquely and displays theatrical masks within frames between rustic temples and bright red Pompeian-style paintings, which you will then find in the subsequent cubicles. They are masterpieces of art and restoration. They are a must-see during your visit to the Forum, so purchase the SUPER PASS ticket with access to the sites, which for just a few euros more will give you unique experiences. No flash photography, please, as glass separates you from the controlled-atmosphere rooms. I recommend the guided tour with a narrator in English or Italian, alternating every half hour. The eastern side houses the reception area, where the beautiful "Hall of Perspectives" stands out for its significance to ancient art.
The "Room of the Masks" features splendid polychrome frescoes on the walls, depicting masks against an architectural background.
The ceiling is simple white.
