Details

SPIZZICA ROMA - Pizza al Taglio presents itself as a charming pizzeria, celebrated for its authentic Roman "pizza al taglio" experience right in the city's heart on Via in Lucina 13. This establishment is regarded as a hidden gem, offering a welcoming atmosphere despite its small size and limited seating. Patrons frequently commend the friendly staff, who enhance the dining experience by providing excellent recommendations and expertly cutting desired portions of their freshly made pizzas.

The cuisine style focuses on Roman pizza by the slice, distinguished by its square, crispy crust and firm, airy dough, often prepared with a 72-hour proving process. This method results in a light, soft texture with a satisfyingly crisp base. Beyond classic offerings, one can discover unique flavour variations, including vegetarian options like potato pizza with creamy cheeses, or more inventive choices such as a revisited Marinara with yellow datterino tomatoes and Cetara anchovies, or the "Giro del Mondo" featuring smoked salmon, burrata, and courgettes.

This spot is perfectly suited for pizza enthusiasts seeking a genuine taste of Roman "pizza al taglio". It serves as an ideal choice for a casual, quick lunch or a high-quality bite while exploring the city, especially given that Romans often enjoy pizza by the slice as a quick snack or meal on the go. Its local appeal and emphasis on fresh, flavourful ingredients make it an excellent option for those desiring an authentic culinary encounter without the formality of a sit-down restaurant.

On my 4th trip to Rome. My friends and I by here on a rainy day, best decision we made that day. The crust was so crispy just yet airy in between. The flavors were nicely balanced. Started with two pizzas ended up devouring 4. Best pizza ive had in Rome. Will definitely be back.

Pizzazza Roma – Pizza all’Italia is simply amazing. This is not a sit-down, formal restaurant — here you stand at tall tables, grab your pizza fresh from the oven, and just enjoy it. The crust is perfect: light, airy, with that beautiful char only a real Italian oven can give. Toppings are fresh, simple, and balanced — you taste the quality in every bite. The atmosphere is lively, unpretentious, and all about the pizza itself. If you want an authentic Roman pizza experience without the fuss, this is the place.

This little quaint pizza place had excellent pizza square with knock out flavours. Boar Ragu was amazing. You can tell they slowly braised and added quality ingredients like red wine. Definitely will come back when in the area. Chef’s kiss 😋

We loved the pizza at this small pizza by the slice restaurant! The bases are crispy and the toppings are good quality. The flavour combinatrions are wonderful and the service is friendly and fast. This is a good option for a cheap and fast meal!

Our family of four was hungry as it was lunch time and I found Spizzica on Google Maps with high reviews, so we stopped by to get some lunch. When we arrived, it was a little busy and all the seats were taken. It is not a large shop and has about 8 seats available.

We ordered our pizzas and drinks as the counter person took note of our selections. She looked around and saw that the tables were all full, so she asked us to wait a few minutes. Soon, a table opened up, and she motioned for us to take it.

The pizzas arrived fairly quickly after that and they were good. We ate our pizzas and drank our sodas while watching people move up and down the street. Once we were done, I went up to pay and was surprised at how inexpensive it was. Honestly, it was nice to be charged tourist prices or to pay sit-down fees all the time.
