The food at Quel che c’è laboratorio Di Cucina was really great and definitely the highlight of the visit. You can see the kitchen while they prepare the food, which is a nice touch and makes the place feel authentic. However, the experience was slightly disappointing at the beginning. When we sat down and asked if we could wait two minutes for a friend, the server told us we had to go outside and couldn’t wait inside. The restaurant is quite small, so I understand they want to keep tables available for customers, but the way it was handled didn’t feel very welcoming. Overall, the food was very good, but the service could have been nicer. Great little pasta spot. Large well priced portions. Bolognese was the best, we also got the ravioli which was rich but incredible. The bruschetta is incredible but again very rich. Super filling and €44 euros for the dishes including drinks. More of a lunch / quick spot than sit down dinner. Would return incredible food thank you :) It was the only place we had decided to go to eat while staying in Rome. And it was the best decision we’ve made in our lives! We went there two days in a row. On the first day, we had carbonara with truffles and past

Lobster pasta: a giant juicy lobster seasoned with pesto, wonderful homemade pasta (smooth and chewy), the freshest tomatoes, sweet and fresh garlic, and absolutely stunning sauce which makes our mouthes watering even after a couple of days just from looking at the pictures.
Truffle carbonara: the carbonara’s taste is very intense, creamy and silky; speck wonderfully fits into the whole picture, but when the whole amazing carbonara composition meets the truffle, the overall taste becomes absolutely groundbreaking. The warm and nutty taste of truffle mixes with the smoothness of carbonara and creates the dish the taste of which you won’t be able to forget ever.
Seafood fettuccine: a plate full of wonderful homemade pasta and various seafood (from mussels to giant prawns). The flavourful broth-like seafood sauce mixes with fresh juicy tomatoes, greens and a touch of crispy onions to create a dance of delicate tastes and flavours which is beyond description. And that dance with every bite brings you somewhere out of this world. What’s even greater for seafood, these have the slight sea flavour and, at the same time, the buttery and silky taste.
Additionally, about the atmosphere in that place. At the restaurant entrance, it is said that any customer becomes a part of the family, and they are indeed treated as such, it feels to be the family while you’re eating there. Warm, personal welcome from the chef and the whole crew. Absolutely pleasant service. The whole experience feels like a family dinner. The whole crew is friendly and always happy to discuss any questions one may have. And nobody will judge you if you eat lobster for the first time and didn’t manage to work the knife properly.
This is the true hidden gem of Rome and one of those place where you can feel that the food is prepared for you from the heart.
Both times, we came around the evening opening and sat one of the first, and our dishes were ready in terms of 7-10 minutes.
The prices are certainly reasonable because the portions are generous and big, and you see every penny in there. There is no pressure from the staff (as you may encounter in big restaurants). And every point we’ve mentioned here creates the wonderful experience and cannot be separated from the wholesome picture of Rome and Italian culture with its incredible cuisine.
