We also tried the capicola, salami and ham tagliere plate. My husband is a connoisseur of cured/aged meats, capicola more specifically, and said he never had such good capicola anywhere in Italy or anywhere else ever. I am not a fan of cured meats, but it was a sublim experience, even for me. Leonardo says he gets it from the market near his hometown in Tuscany. At this point he had us eating out of his hand, literally, and we wanted to try it all.
We next ordered some of his torta di cici (chickpea crepe), and his bread and tomato stew. Sounds strange, but it paired lovely together.
We tried to order a different sandwich called schiacciata con l'artista alla toscana, which is boiled pork in white wine, spices, and topped with a beautiful sauce on focaccia bread for later, but he ran out for the day. We gave us a taste of the last two slivers of meat left. Again, left us speechless. Did I mention, the prices are truly great for the quality and service.
