Fantastic traditional Roman food and wonderful atmosphere, fair price, fantastic sparkling wine. We had the meatballs, the tripe, the chicken with vegetables. Can’t recommend more highly. We arrived in Testaccio close to closing time, but the staff were incredibly kind and still warmly welcomed us to sit and enjoy their food. Even with a bit of a language barrier, they took the time to patiently explain the dishes and make recommendations. The pasta was absolutely delicious, and they even brought us a small sample of another dish they thought we’d enjoy which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything was so good that I was completely stuffed… otherwise I would have happily ordered more! Highly recommend for both the food and the hospitality. I was in Rome for nine days and the best carbonara I had was from here. It was fantastic. They had a nice selection of wine by the glass, too. Excellent food in the Roman style. The beer was also excellent. We enjoyed the soup, pasta e ceci and broccoletti. Very friendly service. If you find yourself wandering through the Mercato di Testaccio, look for URBE cucina romana. It is, without a doubt, the most elevated food you can eat in Rome. The
