Having read the positive reviews we decided the 30 minute walk to Osteria Gernelli would be worth it, and we weren't disappointed The Gernelli brothers (they're triplets, but we only met two) were friendly and helpful, to the extent it was suggested I should change my choice of wine as the cheaper bottle was nicer. We had the aubergine to start which was lovely, a filled pasta which was also lovely and then a mixed grill where the steak and again the aubergine were the stars. I cannot recommend either the food or the Gernelli brothers highly enough. An outstanding meal and well worth a walk. Best place to eat Cacio e Pepe pasta. It’s a cosy restaurant with good service. Today chef explained me some details about the receipt of the dish. I’ll keep it in a secret😃 maybe they will also reveal it to you This is a great location for a classic Roman meal where you will be made to feel like family. Enjoy a table outside on a calm, elegant street in the beautiful Coppedè neighborhood. Treat yourself to Roman specialties executed to perfection, while trying some local wines.
