The willingness to listen to our requests, to make suggestions, to change even at the last minute.
But let's take it one step at a time: we got married, so to speak, late in life. In short, we are experts, gourmets, and cooks. We wanted to have a wedding brunch, something classy and original, appetizing, that wouldn't force guests to sit for hours, as often happens at these ceremonies. It was a success. Starting with the round of welcome aperitifs served upon arrival: bubbles, cocktails, and mocktails (alcohol-free, delicious even for kids) with all kinds of appetizers, including fish and meat tartare, mini heifer burgers, and irresistible fried foods. And then a buffet too varied to list, but I can't help but mention every type of cheese, salami, and vegetables, pizza with mortadella (a must-have for me), a show cooking show with lamb chops and crumbed eggs, even more fresh and fragrant tartare, soups, Bonci's porchetta—a guarantee—as well as all the bread, breadsticks, and mini pizzas of every kind, which alone were worth the trip. And then, cooked right there and then, in full view, were homemade gnocchi with four tomatoes and mezzelune rigatoni alla gricia in honor of the guests who had arrived from outside Rome. Let's move on to desserts? Sacher torte, which we requested, and so on. Cookies and maritozzi with cream, baba, and fruit tarts. It was lovely to see the cheerful guests repeatedly getting up to take something they'd enjoyed, a spirit of sharing also created by the beautifully set tables arranged near the buffets. The waiters were discreet, but always present and smiling. Live music with Daniele Chiusaroli's Jazz band. The location was a dream at Vivai le Mura all'Aventino, owned by Giuseppe Marrocco. He introduced us to Michele Cusano of Sfera del Banqueting, and the combination was truly a winning one. I should add that we chose the menu after several tasting sessions prepared for us by Michele, who was more than willing to accommodate our requests. The price? More than fair! Conclusion: we highly recommend it; in fact, we're almost getting married again just to celebrate!
