This charming venture, opened in March 2023, is a genuine family affair, thoughtfully managed by Yemeni-origin women Nada, her mother Aqla, and sister Samantha, with the restaurant even bearing Mama Aqla's name, meaning 'wise woman'. The atmosphere is notably cosy and authentic, offering a warm and welcoming setting that truly makes it stand out. Its unique blend of Yemeni and Ethiopian flavours, rooted in comforting home cooking, creates a cheerful and spicy ambience, distinct from typical establishments.

The food is excellent made from fresh produce, locally sourced with an authentic street vibe.
Prices are excellent for the quality of food and the owner is delightful with much information about the food you are eating.
My Huda roll was stuffed with spiced meat and some rice, and I was recommended to use my spoon to eat some of the filling before attempting the full sandwich - I did, and it was definitely spicy, and very tasty. Big portion so be prepared.
We ordered some fresh hummus as a side - very earthy and thick, and gently spiced. Not overwhelmed by garlic or lemon, or watery like some other places. Loved it.
We also tried the chicken and rice, very well prepared - soft chunks of chicken breast with a sweet/spicy sauce with raisins, almonds and caramelized onions. Again, spicy and delicious and very more-ish.
They also sell Vimto - a fizzy drink, and a blast from my past in Manchester, fruity and complex, great cold.
Good people, nice restaurant, interesting food - give it a try, you'll love it!
